Overview
We have created a new version of our receipt matching service that will operate a lot smarter and in a more efficient and dynamic way. When it comes to matching receipts, already created expenses and card transactions.
Whether your receipt comes in as a paper photo, an email forward, or a PDF attachment, we instantly match it to your card transaction. Or, if the transaction arrives after you add the receipt, we automatically connect the purchase to the existing receipt/expense.
This benefits all users with a connected card in the service. This creates better control and accuracy in expense reporting, mitigating risk of sending in purchase expenses more than once.
Receipt & Transaction Synchronization
Receipts and transactions rarely arrive in our system at the same time. Transaction data from banks can be delayed by days (clearing cycles), while users often snap photos of receipts immediately or forward them via email sporadically. Without an automated bridge, the system treats these as two separate entities, forcing the user to be the "manual linker."
Why This Matters
This is a key step in reaching our vision of expense management on autopilot:
- Automated Creation: To help the user create the expense automatically without the user having to handle receipts from multiple sources.
- Single-Expense Accuracy: If a purchase results in multiple expenses, we have failed.
How it works
- Our matching engine automatically detects purchase amounts, transaction dates, purchase dates, merchant name, and card number to facilitate a match between the receipt and the transaction.
- Expense-to-transaction matching
- Transaction-to-expense matching
- Email receipt to transaction matching
