# Smart Receipts

## Overview

Say goodbye to paper receipts, manual photo-taking, and tedious expense matching. Thanks to our new integration, digital receipts from thousands of merchants are now automatically delivered and matched directly to your card transactions inside our platform.

This feature turns what used to be a multi-step manual chore into a completely hands-off, automated process.

## The Before vs. After

### Before Smart Receipts

* Collecting and saving paper receipts.

* Manually taking photos of receipts in the app.

* Stressing over missing receipts and chasing down transaction details.

* Delayed expense submissions at the end of the month.

### After Smart Receipts

* **Instant Automation:** Purchase → Transaction appears → Receipt attached → Expense created.

* Zero manual photo uploads or data entry required for supported merchants.

* Timely, accurate expense submissions with no missing paperwork.

## How It Works: Step-by-Step

Because this feature is fully automated behind the scenes, **no user action is required** to trigger it. Here is how the magic happens in real-time:

* **The Purchase:** You make a purchase at a participating merchant using an eligible corporate or personal card.

* **The Data Share:** The transaction information is sent instantly, and a "Smart Receipt" (a digital receipt generated by the merchant at the point of sale) is created.

* **The Match:** We securely combine the transaction data with the digital receipt data.

* **The Result:** A complete expense entry instantly appears in your expense app with the digital receipt **already attached**. No manual reconciliation needed!

  **How do I know it worked?** Look for a dedicated icon right next to your card transactions in the app, which indicates that a digital receipt has been successfully and automatically attached.

## Coverage and Availability

* **12,000+** connected merchants and growing.

* **Strongest availability:** Currently centered in **Sweden**.

* **High-volume business categories:** The feature prioritizes the places you travel and dine most, including **Hotels, Restaurants, Taxi/Transportation**, and more.

* **Avaliable beyond Sweden:** Altough merchant coverage is currently strongest in Sweden, Smart Receipts are avaliable across the Nordic region at supported merchants. If a merchant in these countries supports Smart Receipts, the expense and receipt will automatically appear in the app.
